Auto Repair in South Edmonton — Family Run Since 1987
A & R Automotive is an independent repair shop at 2687-96 Street NW. We first started business in 1987, which means most of the people reading this page were not driving yet when we opened.
We are AMVIC licensed, and an AMA/CAA Approved Auto Repair Facility. What that means in practice is that somebody outside this building checks our work, and if we get it wrong you have somewhere to go that is not us.
Call 780-468-3052. Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 6:00pm.
Professional Tire Services
Your tires are essential to your vehicle’s safety, handling, and performance. Our tire services include inspections, rotations, balancing, repairs, and replacements to help ensure your tires are in top condition. We’ll check for uneven wear, proper inflation, tread depth, and other potential concerns, helping you get the best performance and peace of mind from your tires in every season.
Professional Auto Inspection Services
Keep your vehicle safe, reliable, and road-ready with a professional inspection from our experienced automotive technicians. We thoroughly assess your vehicle’s key systems and components to identify existing issues, potential safety concerns, and maintenance needs before they become costly repairs. Whether you’re experiencing a problem, preparing for a long road trip, or simply want peace of mind, our detailed inspections help you understand exactly what’s happening with your vehicle.
Independently Accountable
Three credentials, and each of them means somebody other than us is watching.
Common Questions
-
Not for an oil change or a flat repair — walk in and we will fit you in the same day wherever we can. Book ahead for larger work and for seasonal tire changeover in November and April, when the shop fills up a week deep.
-
No. Under the federal Competition Act a manufacturer cannot require dealer servicing to keep a warranty valid, and to deny a claim they would have to prove that our work caused the failure. What they can require is factory-specification parts and fluids and proper documentation. We do both, and your itemised invoice records the date, the mileage and the specifications used.
-
Yes. We are a licensed inspection facility and can perform the out-of-province inspection required to register a vehicle brought into Alberta, and carry out any repairs it needs to pass.
-
You get the quote before the work. We show you the parts we replaced. And we are AMVIC licensed and AMA/CAA approved, which means there is a complaints process that does not run through us. That is about as much reassurance as any shop can honestly offer — the rest is what people tell you about us.
